If you mention motorsport to most people they immediately think of what they see in the media; F1, touring cars, or perhaps the WRC. With all that money on display it’s easy to think that you must need deep pockets to compete. While money is inevitably a factor, there are ways to compete for far less. On any given weekend, people up and down the country are competing on events that cost less than £50. Better yet, virtually any car is suitable. While it may not be formula 1, it provides enjoyable motorsport for less than the price of an ‘experience day’.
Over the coming weeks I’m going to feature many of these events, explaining what they are, how to get involved, and how much fun they can be. This week its the turn of the Grass Autotest.
